This is an intermediate workshop diving into the world of flourishing. This workshop follows on from the beginner’s class held in the morning. If you are a beginner, then these workshops are designed so that you can attend the full day if you would like to. If you have already done some calligraphy before, then this afternoon workshop will be a great event for you to improve your calligraphy.

We will start with learning techniques and exercises that will help to build consistency when flourishing, and then progress onto flourishing variations for lowercase letters, words and capitals. I will share with you all the tips and tricks I have learned on my calligraphy journey, showing you how apply these flourishes to a range of calligraphy styles.

There is no requirement to have learned Copperplate or any other specific calligraphy styles before this class. The flourishes taught in this class will be applicable to any pointed pen calligraphy style. This workshop will not include a beginner’s lesson, so attendees will need to have either done a beginner’s workshop before, attend the morning beginners’ class or have done some pointed pen calligraphy before. The class cost includes tea, coffee and sweet treats and a full calligraphy kit with some of my favourite materials. The kit will not include a pen, so please bring your favourite calligraphy pen with you. We will be selling our shop products on the day (pens, inks, paper etc.).
